Butterfly Garden

Our Stingrays were very excited when they visited our Butterfly garden and found a chrysalis! We can’t wait to see it turn into a butterfly. While in the garden we also took time to notice all the lovely creatures, flowers, and seedlings that we’ve planted.

Making Music

The Iguanas tried writing their own musical notes based on the work of Beethoven.

Fun with Red

The turtles had fun with red paint and red colored rice today! They used the paint to stamp love hearts and the rice to practice their pouring skills.

Crowns

Today the Stingrays made Valentine’s Day crowns. The children had to paint glue onto their love hearts and then push tiny paper squares onto it. It was tricky, but we loved our crowns once they were finished.

Thousand Pairs of Little Shoes

Last week our children were moved by the stories they heard of people living in various countries around the globe. They were inspired to help those less fortunate than themselves and discussed ways they could help some of the families they learned about.

This is how our shoe collection began. Currently our Iguanas are collecting gently used shoes that will be donated to the organization a Thousand Pairs of Little Shoes

These shoes will travel the world to children and families who desperately need them so they can avoid unnecessary illnesses that are transmitted through the soil.

We were fortunate enough to have Miss Renata from a Thousand Pairs of Little Shoes our class today. They watched videos of the children who will be receiving the shoes they’ve collected and were very proud of the work they’ve done!

Thank you Miss Renata for your passion and dedication. You truly are an inspiration to our children and we are grateful you were able to visit us!

Valentine’s Day Treats

Today we helped bake some lovely Valentine’s Day inspired treats! We brought them home to share with you so hopefully we didn’t eat them all.

Here’s the recipe if you’d like to make some more:

Chocolate Pretzels
-1 bag of m&m’s
-1 bag of Hershey kisses
-1 bag of pretzels

Preheat oven to 275 degrees

1. On a cookie sheet lay out pretzels with one kiss on top of each
2. Place in oven for 2 minutes
3. Gently push m&m into kiss
4. Let cool
5. Eat and enjoy!

Beethoven
